What this site is
Neighbors Paid publishes statistics derived from building permits issued by US city governments. Each figure is the value an applicant declared to a city, aggregated across many filings.
What it is not
It is not a quote, an estimate, an appraisal, or professional advice of any kind. A declared permit value can sit below a final invoice, and work done without a permit never appears at all — both limits are set out in the methodology. Do not use these figures as the sole basis for a contract, a budget or a claim. Verify with the original city record, which is linked on every page.
We take care with the pipeline and correct errors when we find them, but the data is provided as is, without warranty of accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose.
Using our figures
You may quote or reproduce statistics from this site, including in commercial work, provided you credit Neighbors Paid and link to the page the figure came from. Bulk automated copying of the whole site is not permitted; if you want the underlying data, write to us and we will probably just send it.
Photographs
Photographs used on share images are licensed through Pexels and remain the work of their photographers, who are listed on the credits page. They illustrate a category of work; they are not pictures of the specific projects in the data.
